As for treatment Neurofibromatosis doesnt really have any. Doctors do what they can to monitor the effects of the the disease.
As for the tumors most of them can be surgically removed depending on the location ofthem. In som cases thetumors may become cancerous so they will be treated with chemotherapy, radiation, and maybe even surgery.
However in most cases deafness occurs because the auditory nerve has to be surgically removed.
The FDA approved an auditory brainstem implant which restores some of the hearing lost from the auditory nerve being removed.
